PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - A participant from West Java, Adelya Fauzi Alfian, started participating in the 2026 National Secondary Education Student Competency Competition (LKS) in the Cloud Computing competition online from SMKN 13 Bandung, Tuesday (28/7/2026).

In this year's competition, participants worked on three main modules that tested their DevOps CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and Automation, and EMR and Data Analytics skills.

Pratiwi, a guidance teacher at SMKN 13 Bandung, stated that the material in the National Student Worksheet (LKS) continues to evolve to meet industry needs. Every year, new technologies need to be learned, while material from previous years remains part of the competition.

"This year's biggest challenge is data analytics. We're still using the old materials, but there's always new technology we have to learn," he said.

According to Pratiwi, Adelya met the challenge with a strong enthusiasm for learning. She observed that her students were always interested in trying new things and never gave up easily when faced with unprecedented challenges.

"I give him a challenge, and he does it. If he encounters an obstacle, he comes to discuss it himself. He's always curious and enjoys new challenges," he said.

This character is considered to be in line with Singer's values in the Pancawaluya character education initiated by the Governor of West Java, namely daring to take the initiative, continuing to learn, and being ready to face change.

According to him, participant development doesn't begin just before the competition, but continues throughout the year. As soon as one edition of the National LKS concludes, the mentoring team immediately develops strategies, studies technological developments, and prepares the next batch of participants.

"We constantly monitor technological developments that adhere to WorldSkills standards. After completing one worksheet, we immediately start studying again to prepare for the following year," he said.

Pratiwi acknowledged that rapid technological developments also require teachers to continually improve their competencies. She even studied cloud computing, now a mainstay of SMKN 13 Bandung, from the beginning with her students.

"I also learned from scratch. We saw the huge potential of cloud computing, so we decided to continue developing this competency together," he said.

During the coaching process, SMKN 13 Bandung is building a learning ecosystem through the Rumah Awan community, comprised of alumni of the LKS Cloud Computing program. The alumni actively share their experiences, help find the latest technology references, and engage in discussions with participants in preparation.

"Our relationship is like family. The alumni help find solutions, discuss issues, and accompany their juniors during their preparations," Pratiwi explained.

He believes this collaboration is one of the strengths of the development at SMKN 13 Bandung. Each alumni possesses different skills, complementing each other in supporting participants in navigating the ever-changing technological landscape.

This consistent coaching has led SMKN 13 Bandung to once again represent West Java in the National Cloud Computing Competition. This year marks their fourth consecutive participation representing West Java and their third consecutive year competing at the national level in this category.

Pratiwi hopes that this experience will encourage more students to dare to study new fields that are constantly developing.

"The first step is always difficult. But if you have the courage to start and keep learning, God willing, there will be a way," he concluded.
