PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Overall, in the SPMB announcement on Monday (June 8, 2026), Maung School provided a quota of 18,268, consisting of 10,400 seats for high school students and 7,868 seats for vocational high school students. Meanwhile, the number of applicants reached 38,476 prospective students, consisting of 24,840 high school applicants and 13,636 vocational high school applicants.

Based on the recapitulation as of the cut-off date of June 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM WIB, competition for the Leadership Track was quite intense. Of the 1,264 applicants, 814 students were accepted and 450 were rejected.

In the Student Council Chairperson selection process, 255 (48.3 percent) of 528 applicants were accepted, while 273 (51.7 percent) were rejected. Meanwhile, in the Pramuka Pratama selection process, 151 (53.2 percent) of 284 applicants were accepted, while 133 (46.8 percent) were rejected.

The highest acceptance rate was recorded for the Garuda Scout Pathway. Of the 452 applicants, 408 (90.3 percent) were accepted, while 44 (9.7 percent) were rejected.

The Head of the West Java Education Office (Kadisdik), Purwanto, emphasized that the West Java Education Office is committed to ensuring that the entire SPMB process is objective, transparent, and accountable, and provides fair opportunities for all prospective students.

Mapping of New Prospective Students

The West Java Education Office has also implemented the Mapping of Prospective New Students (PCMB) as an initial stage of the 2026 SPMB. The PCMB aims to map the distribution and potential graduation of junior high school/Islamic junior high school students throughout West Java.

PCMB registration will be conducted online through the official SPMB West Java website on May 29, 2026, then continued on June 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8, 2026.

According to the Head of Education, PCMB not only functions as data collection, but also as a strategic instrument in planning capacity and implementing SPMB that is more objective and on target.

Opportunities Are Still Open

For prospective students who do not pass the Maung School selection, the opportunity to continue their education remains open through registration at state high schools/vocational schools or cooperative schools through the achievement and domicile pathways.

Registration opens on June 8, 2026 at 10:00 WIB, coinciding with the announcement of the Maung School selection results, and closes at 24:00 WIB on the same day.

"Prospective Maung School students who do not pass still have 12 hours to register for the regular route," said the Head of the Education Office.

Sufficient Capacity

​Regarding quota availability, the Head of the Education Office explained that the total capacity of SMA, SMK, and MA in West Java reached 909,183 seats.

"This number exceeds the total number of junior high school/Islamic junior high school graduates in West Java, which is recorded at 826,996 students, or equivalent to 109.93 percent," he said.

​In detail, the capacity consists of 195,344 seats in public senior high schools, 143,460 seats in private senior high schools, 124,217 seats in public vocational schools, 320,720 seats in private vocational schools, 21,888 seats in public MA, and 81,936 seats in private MA.

​With this composition, according to the Head of Education, the capacity of public schools reaches 43.9 percent of the total available quota.

"The West Java Provincial Government ensures that all junior high school (SMP) and Islamic junior high school (MTs) graduates still have the opportunity to continue their education to the secondary level according to their interests, potential, and choices," he concluded. (Rep pun/bhf)
