PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The implementation of the New Student Admission System (SPMB) Phase 1 officially closed on June 19, 2026. Hundreds of thousands of prospective new students have been successfully mapped to the schools of their choice and are now preparing to take part in the re-registration process according to the predetermined schedule.
The Head of the West Java Education Office (Kadisdik), Purwanto, emphasized that the entire SPMB process is carried out with transparency, fairness, and accountability as the top priority. The West Java Education Office also continues to optimize the use of available quotas to ensure the educational rights of all children in West Java are met.
"We appreciate the high level of public enthusiasm for the implementation of SPMB Phase 1. For prospective new students who have not yet been mapped, there is no need to worry because opportunities are still open through SPMB Phase 2 so that all prospective students still have the opportunity to receive educational services," said the Head of the Education Office, Saturday (20/6/2026).
The Head of the Education Office explained that prospective new students who were selected for the first phase of the SPMB are required to re-register at their respective schools on June 26 and 29, 2026. The second phase of the SPMB will open on June 30 and July 1, 2, 3, and 6, 2026, to provide opportunities for prospective students who have not yet been selected.
The Head of the Education Office added that the West Java Provincial Government recognizes that the current capacity of public schools cannot accommodate all junior high and Islamic junior high school graduates in West Java. Therefore, the West Java Provincial Government continues to strengthen collaboration with private schools as part of its efforts to ensure that every child can continue their education.
"Our commitment is to oversee this entire process openly. We have prepared every educational unit to provide comprehensive and transparent services and information to parents and prospective students," he added.
Positive Response from Parents and Prospective Students
This year's SPMB implementation also received a positive response from the public. One prospective student's parent, Tuti Ningsih, expressed gratitude after her daughter, Nayla Dwi Alifah, was successfully admitted to SMKN 3 Bandung.
"Thank God, my child was successfully admitted to SMKN 3 Bandung. Throughout the process, we were able to monitor the selection results regularly, and everything went smoothly. Hopefully, our child will study enthusiastically and achieve success at the school of his choice," he said.
Nayla also expressed gratitude. She said she was happy to be able to continue her education at the school of her choice.
