PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government closed the implementation of the New Student Admission System (SPMB) Phase 1 with hundreds of thousands of prospective new students having been mapped to their chosen schools and preparing to re-register according to the set schedule (20/6/2026).
The Head of the West Java Provincial Education Office, Purwanto, emphasized that the entire SPMB process was carried out transparently, fairly, and accountably by optimizing the available quota so that the right to education for every child in West Java was still fulfilled.
"We appreciate the high level of public enthusiasm for the implementation of SPMB Phase 1. For prospective new students who have not yet been mapped, there is no need to worry because opportunities are still open through SPMB Phase 2 so that all prospective students still have the opportunity to receive educational services," he said.
Purwanto explained that prospective new students who have been mapped in SPMB Phase 1 are required to re-register at their respective destination schools on June 26 and 29, 2026.
SPMB Phase 2 will open on June 30 and July 1, 2, 3, and 6, 2026 to provide an opportunity for prospective students who have not yet been mapped to get a school.
The West Java Provincial Government is also strengthening cooperation with private schools because the capacity of public schools is not yet able to accommodate all junior high school and Islamic junior high school (MTs) graduates in West Java.
"Our commitment is to oversee this entire process openly. We have prepared every educational unit to provide comprehensive and transparent services and information to parents and prospective students," he added.
The implementation of SPMB this year received a positive response from the community, one of which was conveyed by Tuti Ningsih who was grateful that her daughter, Nayla Dwi Alifah, was successfully accepted at State Vocational School 3 Bandung.
"Thank God, my child was successfully admitted to SMKN 3 Bandung. Throughout the process, we were able to monitor the selection results regularly, and everything went smoothly. Hopefully, our child will study enthusiastically and achieve success at the school of his choice," he said.
Nayla admitted that she was happy to be able to continue her education at the school she wanted and was ready to study harder to achieve success.
"I'm so grateful to have been accepted to the school I chose. I was initially a little worried while waiting for the selection results, but I was finally accepted to SMKN 3 Bandung. Thank God, I'm ready to study harder at the school of my choice," she said.
