PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Garut Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab), through the Garut Regent's Expert Staff Nia Gania Karyana appreciated the Civil Engineering Student Association (Himasip) of the Garut Institute of Technology (ITG) in organizing the World Water Day Seminar.

The event took place at the ITG Multimedia Hall, Garut Regency, Tuesday (11/6/2024).

Gania emphasized the importance of water as a basic human need and reminded that Indonesia has Law Number 7 of 2004 concerning Water Resources which regulates water conservation.

"Events like this are important to remind stakeholders to anticipate possible water shortages," he said.

Apart from saving water, Gania emphasized the importance of community support for the government's efforts to protect water resources by reforesting dry land.

“Saving water must be adapted to our needs. For example, you only need to shower with a bucket or use a shower, because a shower saves more water than using a dipper. "Avoid wasting water on unnecessary things," he said.

"World Water Day" itself is a way to remind people how important water is as a crucial source of life for health, environmental sustainability, agriculture, industry and the life of living things as a whole.

One of Himasip ITG's concerns is the availability of water for public consumption.

World Water Day aims to increase awareness about the importance of clean water, sustainable management of water resources, and fair access to water for all living creatures in the world.

In this regard, Himasip ITG is very enthusiastic and participated in commemorating this day: "World Water Day" in the form of a one-day seminar.
