PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin conducted a working visit to the Star Energy Geothermal Darajat office in Pasirwangi District, Garut Regency, on Wednesday (May 20, 2026). The visit focused on geothermal energy development as a strategic step to support national energy self-sufficiency.

The Regent of Garut expressed his admiration for the vital role of the Darajat Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) which has made a significant contribution to electricity supply, not only for Garut Regency but also on a national scale.

"We are very impressed by the magnitude of the Darajat Geothermal Power Plant, which provides electricity to Garut Regency, and Indonesia in particular. We hope this will continue and that we can collaborate together to provide not only electricity but also empower the surrounding community, particularly the Pasirwangi community, and Garut Regency in general," he said.

The Regent of Garut also appreciated the contribution the company has made to the region, which was also confirmed by the local village head regarding its positive impact on the surrounding community.

Responding to the visit, Arief Budiman, Head of Geothermal Engineering (KTPB) / Head of Department (HOD) at Star Energy Geothermal Darajat, welcomed the attention shown by the Garut Regency Government. He emphasized the company's commitment to maintaining good communication and synergy with the local government.

"We have received significant support from the Garut Regency government, as well as the local sub-district and village governments. For that, we express our gratitude.
