PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Regional Secretary of West Java Province Taufiq Budi Santoso revealed that the meeting between the Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin and the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono at the PUPR Ministry office, Jakarta, Wednesday (28/2/2024), resulted in the allocation regional road presidential decree amounting to IDR 1.2 trillion.
Through the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads, the PUPR Ministry ensures that there will be an increase in the budget for repairing provincial to district/city roads in West Java.
"Thank God, in 2024 we will receive an allocation for road handling, provincial road presidential decree amounting to IDR 1.2 trillion," said Taufiq in Bandung City, Thursday (29/2/2024).
"This is an important thing because the total regional road presidential decree is Rp. 12 trillion nationally and Rp. 1.2 trillion for West Java. This is something to be proud of for all of us," he added.
Apart from that, it has also been agreed that construction of the Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road (BIUTR) can begin.
"God willing, in Bandung, especially we will build stronger connectivity together. We will prepare together with the central government, Ministry of Transportation, Bappenas for the development of the Bandung Metropolitan Railway," said Taufiq.
"Then the BIUTR program will also be continued. Yesterday it was agreed with the Minister of PUPR that this would improve the quality of our infrastructure, as well as increase West Java's competitiveness in the future," he added.
Furthermore, there is also a presidential decree on drinking water and waste water management which can be utilized by West Java Province.
No less important, Taufiq added, was also discussing plans to repair and upgrade the mining road in Parung Panjang, Bogor Regency which will be carried out this year.
The construction plan for the Cileunyi-Garut-Tasikmalaya (Cigatas) toll road is also expected to be realized soon.
