PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) ensures that there will be no demonstrations taking to the streets on the upcoming 2024 International Labor Day commemoration.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Bandung City Employment Service, Andri Darusman, at the Coffee Morning and Gathering of the Bandung City Labor Union, Tuesday (24/4/2024).

He said that the commemoration of International Labor Day 2024 in Bandung City would take place on Sunday 5 May 2024 at the Harris Convention Center Festival Citylink, Bandung City. Later, this activity will be attended by around 1,500 representatives of workers from the Bandung City business world.

"There were no demonstrations on the streets. Thank God, thank you," he said.

Andri also added that there are a number of activities that will be held during the commemoration of International Labor Day 2024 in the city of Bandung. These include blood donation activities, and also cleaning activities in their respective companies.

In this gathering activity, Andri invited all parties to make International Labor Day 2024 an opportunity to work together to create competent workers.

"Today we are in touch to further improve the relationship between the Government and elements of workers and entrepreneurs, as well as improve harmonious industrial relations between workers, entrepreneurs and the government," he said.

He also hopes that the discussion forum that has been established between the government and the business world can become a means of establishing communication and cooperation between the government, employers and workers in an effort to increase the guarantee of harmonious, dynamic and just industrial relations, both now and in the future. .

Acting Regional Secretary (Sekda) for Bandung City, Hikmat Ginanjar, said that the theme of commemorating International Labor Day 2024 is a spirit that reflects the involvement of all players in the business world. Starting from the government, worker members, entrepreneurs who show commitment to building dignified industrial relations.

As is known, the theme of the commemoration of International Labor Day or May Day 2024 in the city of Bandung is "Make the Momentum of May Day 2024 to Unite Hearts, Feelings and Minds in Achieving Common Prosperity".

"The city of Bandung is our common home. When it comes to home, we have to look after it together from various sectors. As residents in it, let's keep Bandung as a safe, comfortable and conducive city," he said.

Hikmat also invites all parties to maintain the city of Bandung as a safe, comfortable and conducive city. This can start from yourself by applying the life principle 'I am safe, I am comfortable, I am fun'.

"Let's create conditions where I am safe, I am comfortable, and I am fun. If everything is fun, of course the working atmosphere will become more interesting. Creativity, innovation, positive thoughts and ideas will emerge," he said.

He hopes that by establishing harmonious relations between workers, employers and the government (tripartite), any problems or differences in interests can be resolved by upholding the principle of deliberation to reach a consensus.
