PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Heavy rain hit Wanaraja District, Garut Regency on Thursday (11/01/2023), causing light flooding in several areas. Based on a report from the Head of Wanaraja Subdistrict, Tatang Suryana, water overflowed onto the village road in Ciamana Village, Sindangratu Village.

"Flooding occurs because high intensity rain causes water levels to increase and flow rapidly into ditches and culverts," he said.

Apart from that, he added, there are embankments of bamboo trees that are carried away by the current and blocked in narrow culverts,
causing water to overflow onto the road.

However, the Head of Tatang Suryana District said that the current conditions are safe and conducive. There was no significant impact caused by this incident. His party continues to monitor the situation and make preventative efforts so that similar incidents do not have a bad impact.
