PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government has confirmed that Car Free Day (CFD) and Vehicle-Free Braga (Braga Beken) will continue.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan said the evaluation was conducted to improve governance before the two programs resume.

The evaluation was carried out after administrative problems were discovered in the management of the activity budget that needed to be resolved first.

"The CFD evaluation is actually a form of governance oversight. The Transportation Agency has been using CFD management funds to enlist the help of various parties to conduct regulatory enforcement and other activities. However, there were administrative and governance errors, so I stopped it and fixed everything," said Farhan (September 2, 2026).

The temporary suspension of CFD does not mean that the Bandung City Government has removed the program from the community activity agenda.

Farhan said that the implementation of CFD and Braga Beken would return after the concept for organizing both activities was clearly stated.

"I need to see first how the concept for the CFD and Braga Beken arrangements will look. If it's clear and robust, we'll implement it again," he said.

The sustainability of these two programs is considered important because they provide public space while supporting the activities of the Bandung City community.

"It must continue because we really need it. We need CFD, we need Braga Beken," he said.

Specifically for Braga Beken, the Bandung City Government will develop activity concepts to make the area more attractive to the public and tourists.

This development is aimed at making the Braga area a public space as well as a tourist attraction in the city of Bandung.

"The Braga concept will certainly be further developed to make it even more attractive as a tourist destination," he said.
