PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) together with the Bandung City National Alms Agency (Baznas) and a number of social institutions are committed to tackling AIDS and providing attention to People with HIV/AIDS (ODHA).

Because these PLWHA have the right to live in a good community environment. Therefore, attention from all parties is needed to meet nutritional needs to social humanity.

For this reason, the Bandung City Government together with the Bandung City Baznas launched the Tebar Cinta Akhiri AIDS program. This collaborative program provides attention to PLWHA in the city of Bandung.

This movement is a philanthropy, namely a voluntary movement carried out to help others and advance the public interest.

"A long-term program, hopefully this will be a useful program," said Bandung AIDS Coalition (BAC) activist, Ogan Akbar Syamsu at the Soft Launching and Talkshow of Spreading Love to End AIDS, in the Hall of the Bandung City Archives and Library Office (10/10/2024).

According to Ogan, a number of activities have been designed to help PLWHA. Among them are education related to health, care, nutritional support, social and economic. Including handling of PLWHA children, parenting patterns to mental health.

"Why did this arise? Because we at BAC meet almost every month and discuss AIDS management. There are many things that need to be done, such as children with HIV/AIDS, education, nutrition and parenting. This requires proper management," he said.

In addition, for people who will set aside some of their fortune, come for donations that can later be used for activities and handling.

"Some ideas in this program, such as fundraising, have received support from Baznas," said Ogan.

Meanwhile, the Head of Baznas Bandung City, Akhmad Roziqin, said that this movement was a trigger for accelerating the handling of HIV/AIDS and PLHIV in Bandung City.

"We view the movement initiated by BAC as an extraordinarily fast movement," he said.

Akhmad hopes that the program that operates in the social sphere can be integrated and measured. So that it can make related institutions and agencies interested in getting involved.

"This must be integrated and measurable. The Department of Education, Department of Health, social institutions, foundations can contribute to this activity," he said.

According to him, this activity needs to be carried out collaboratively and comprehensively so that it runs optimally and on target.

"This program cannot be implemented alone or partially, but collaboratively and comprehensively. Involvement of all parties, gather well with the government including Baznas," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
