PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Bekasi Regency Regional Secretary Endin Samsudin attended a grand charity event for 500 orphans from seven villages in Kedungwaringin District at the Jami An Nur Mosque Field, Waringinjaya Village (28/6/2026).

The social program, which is entering its third year, is a manifestation of community concern and also helps meet the needs of orphans in Kedungwaringin District.

Endin Samsudin said that the assistance is expected to encourage orphans to remain optimistic in pursuing their education and dreams.

"Today is a day of joy for orphans. Never be discouraged. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also grew up as an orphan, yet he became a successful leader of his community. May this serve as motivation that success comes from struggle and determination," he said.

Endin appreciated the donors, the An Nur Zakat Collection Unit, the village government, the committee, and the community who consistently organized the program.

According to him, maintaining social awareness can provide real benefits while strengthening a culture of mutual assistance within society.

"Hopefully, the donations from our donors will continue to benefit our children and become a blessing. In the future, I hope our children will grow up to be successful and, of course, able to share with others," he explained.

Head of the An Nur Zakat Collection Unit of Waringinjaya Village, Tijar Ashari, said the number of recipients of assistance increased to 500 children from seven villages this year.

The first implementation reached 130 children, then increased to 180 children, before finally reaching 500 recipients in 2026.

Tijar explained that the funds collected reached around Rp94,988,000 thanks to the support of donors and the community.

In addition to the annual assistance, the An Nur Zakat Collection Unit routinely distributes monthly assistance to 33 orphans, around 86 elderly poor people, Koran teachers, mosque caretakers, cemetery administrators, and residents in need.

"We want to transform the Mustahik (givers of Zakat) into future Zakat recipients. We hope that at the very least, the orphans we foster will become successful individuals, enabling them to become Zakat recipients, or providers of assistance to other orphans," he concluded.
