PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin received two portable USG packages worth a total of IDR 400 million from PT PLN (Persero) and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk during a Joint Roll Call at the Garut Regency Regional Secretariat Field (20/7/2026).

This assistance is a Social and Environmental Responsibility program to support the acceleration of reducing Maternal Mortality Rates and Infant Mortality Rates in Garut Regency.

Abdusy Syakur Amin appreciated the synergy between PLN and BCA which helped improve maternal health services by providing early detection tools.

"Perhaps with this tool, it can be detected, if there are pregnant women who have high-risk potential, they can be treated immediately," said Syakur.

Head of the Garut Regency Health Office, Leli Yuliani, explained that portable ultrasound is used to detect preeclampsia, monitor blood pressure, and check the condition of pregnant women and fetuses.

According to Leli, the use of this device is expected to reduce the risk of death due to eclampsia and preeclampsia while increasing the safety of the baby in the womb.

"We hope this device will help improve the health of pregnant women, including by reducing the risk of death from eclampsia and preeclampsia, and by ensuring the safety of the unborn baby," Leli explained.

A representative from the BCA Garut Branch said that the portable USG assistance from the BCA Bakti Program will be placed at the Cisompet Community Health Center so that the benefits can be felt by the community.

This assistance is expected to strengthen maternal and child health services while reducing maternal and infant mortality rates in Garut Regency.
