PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Education Office (Disdik) is promoting a new educational breakthrough called the Jabar Sakola Program (PJS). This program is designed to expand public access to education and reduce the school dropout rate in West Java through a series of comprehensive educational assistance schemes.
The socialization took place at the Dewi Sartika Hall, West Java Education Office, Bandung City, on Thursday (October 1, 2026). The event was attended by all divisions within the West Java Education Office, as well as representatives from the Education Office Branch Offices (KCD) for Regions I-XIII.
The Head of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) for the West Java Education Office (Disdik Jabar), Mohammad Ibrahim, stated that the Jabar Sakola Program is a transformation of the previous educational scholarship program. To ensure this assistance is truly targeted, the West Java Education Office has precisely matched recipient data with the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) to avoid duplication with central government assistance such as PIP or PKH.
"We hope that through this opportunity, we can all understand and implement the Governor's policy program as best we can. This will ensure that educational assistance truly reaches students in need," he said.
In line with this, Ai Nurhasan, Head of the PSMA Division of the West Java Education Office, emphasized the agency's commitment to ensuring the program's accuracy. He instructed all staff across the 13 sub-districts (KCD) to work diligently to conduct factual verification in the field.
"Colleagues at the branch offices will go directly to verify the data. This is to ensure that the aid program is distributed appropriately to the West Java residents who truly deserve it," he stressed.
The implementation of the Jabar Sakola Program is divided into four main assistance schemes designed for students currently enrolled in high school, vocational school, and special needs schools (SLB). These four schemes include:
1. Personal PJS
Financial assistance is intended for students from vulnerable families (Decile 1) who do not receive PKH/PIP. This assistance focuses on meeting students' personal needs to prevent the risk of dropping out of school, such as purchasing uniforms, books, and daily transportation costs.
1. Operational PJS
Annual tuition relief assistance for 11th and 12th grade students in private schools who fall into the vulnerable category (Deciles 1 and 2). Specifically, for private special schools (SLB), all students will receive this assistance regardless of economic decile.
1. Private School Cooperation PJS (SSK)
The financial assistance covers the Education Contribution Fund (DSP) and monthly tuition subsidies. This program is intended for students attending private high schools (SMA/SMK) that have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the West Java Provincial Government since the New Student Admissions System (SPMB) began.
1. PJS Industrial Partner
This is a full-tuition scholarship program that provides selected students with the opportunity to attend the SMK Mitra Industri program in Bekasi. Students will be fully funded for three years until graduation and prepared to enter the workforce.
Through the Jabar Sakola Program, the West Java Provincial Government hopes to eliminate any more children from dropping out of school due to financial constraints, while also achieving equitable education for the sake of creating a special generation in West Java. (*opd)
