PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, emphasized five strategic points in an effort to strengthen village governance in Bekasi Regency.

This was conveyed in a written speech by the Acting Regent of Bekasi which was read by the Assistant for Government and Public Welfare (Asda I) of the Bekasi Regency Regional Secretariat, Hudaya, at a coordination meeting and discussion on village government administration held at the Bekasi Regency BPBD Hall, Tuesday (14/4/2026).

In his direction, the Acting Regent emphasized that village government is the spearhead of public services, so it needs to be supported by professional, transparent, and accountable governance.

The five main points that are the focus of this strengthening are: First, increasing the capacity of village officials. Village officials are encouraged to continuously improve their competence and understanding of regulations to ensure that government administration is carried out in accordance with statutory provisions.

Second, transparent and accountable village financial management. Village funds and their allocation must be managed in an orderly, open, and accountable manner, so that they provide real benefits to the community.

Third, strengthening the role of the Village Consultative Body (BPD). The BPD is expected to optimally carry out its oversight function and channel community aspirations, as well as serve as a strategic partner for the village government.

Fourth, optimize public services in villages. Village governments are required to provide services that are fast, accurate, and responsive to community needs.

Fifth, strengthening synergy and coordination between stakeholders. Collaboration between village governments, sub-districts, and regional government agencies is considered crucial to ensuring the program is effective and on-target.

"These five points are key to realizing a democratic, participatory, and integrated village government," he said in his remarks.

Furthermore, the Acting Regent of Bekasi also emphasized that the successful implementation of village governance requires technical readiness, good understanding, and support from all parties, both the government and the community.

Through this coordination meeting, the Bekasi Regency Government hopes to build a common perception and shared commitment to improving the quality of village governance, in order to encourage the realization of a Bekasi Regency that is increasingly resilient, advanced, and prosperous.

The coordination meeting featured speakers from the Ministry of Home Affairs, including Victor Pegi Polnaya, Head of the Sub-Directorate for Facilitation of Village Government Institutions and Village Consultative Bodies, and Fikri Wardhana Ohorella, a Junior Expert Human Resources Analyst for Civil Servants.
