PORTALJABAR, CIREBON CITY - The West Java Provincial Government is committed to training all educators to become driving teachers.

The Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, ensured that the training was not only for high school, vocational school, and special education school teachers who are under the authority of the province, but also for all teachers at the elementary and junior high school levels.

"This is our commitment, namely training for driving teachers for all teachers in West Java without exception, starting from elementary, middle, high, vocational, and special education teachers. We will do it independently," said Herman Suryatman at the Education Reflection and Evaluation Coordination Meeting at the Aston Hotel, Cirebon City, Thursday (11/21/2024).

The commitment to train all driving teachers was initiated at the end of the coordination meeting attended by 27 Education Offices throughout West Java.

"This is one of the follow-ups to the educational evaluation and reflection coordination meeting, not just lip service, but a commitment," said Herman firmly.

In implementing the training, the West Java Provincial Government will collaborate with the Center for Leading Teachers and the Center for Quality Assurance, which aims to improve the quality of education in schools through the role of leading teachers.

Herman said that the task of a driving teacher is not only to teach, but also to act as a motivator, mover, and facilitator in fostering students' enthusiasm for learning.

"So that they are able to become catalysts for educational change in their regions," he said.

In addition, improving the quality of education in West Java is also to support Golden Indonesia 2045, where they will become the actors in the future.

"We are doing this solely for our children and grandchildren so that their civilization will be much better than ours and to prepare for the golden Indonesia of 2045, where they will be the actors," said Herman.

Previously, the West Java Provincial Government had started the kick-off of training for 40,609 high school, vocational school, and special education school teachers to become driving teachers in August 2024.
