PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government supports the development of SMAN 2 Tambun Selatan as a Maung School to provide superior educational services to the community by providing facilities, infrastructure, and learning technology (23/6/2026).
Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, directly inspected the condition of the school to identify the needs required for the Maung School program to run optimally.
Asep Surya Atmaja said that SMAN 2 Tambun Selatan was the only school in Bekasi Regency that the West Java Provincial Government trusted to run the program.
"Thank God, today I made my second visit to the Tambun area, specifically to SMAN 2 Tambun Selatan. I was accompanied by the Principal, the Head of the Community Development Center (KCD), and the Committee Chair to see firsthand the condition of the school, which has been entrusted as a Maung School by the West Java Provincial Government," he said.
The Bekasi Regency Government is committed to helping meet the needs of schools so that the quality of learning continues to improve and the benefits are felt by students.
"As a local government, we certainly cannot remain silent. This is the only school in Bekasi Regency that has received this trust. Therefore, we want to ensure that all necessary needs are met," he said.
The review results show that there is still a need for infrastructure, laboratories, digital devices, and learning support facilities that need to be completed.
Asep explained that budget limitations encouraged local governments to collaborate with the business world through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to support the improvement of educational facilities.
"Earlier, I toured the school principals and heard various complaints regarding infrastructure needs. Relying on the Bekasi Regency and West Java Provincial Budgets (APBD) would certainly be limited. Therefore, we began seeking solutions through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs from banks and companies operating in Bekasi Regency," he explained.
The Bekasi Regency Government will also invite local companies to contribute through CSR programs that are more targeted towards the world of education.
"I want to bring together companies in Bekasi Regency to ensure that the people of Bekasi Regency truly feel the benefits of their CSR programs. One way is to support the facilities and needs of Maung School," he said.
In addition to physical development, the local government also prioritizes the provision of servers, laptops, and digital devices to support the teaching and learning process.
"We're not just talking about buildings and structures. I'm also asking about the need for servers, laptops, and various other supporting facilities. These factors are crucial to supporting a quality learning process," he said.
Acting Principal of SMAN 2 Tambun Selatan Burhanudin explained that his school was selected because it met the requirements, including having A accreditation, not having an open school, and having good academic and non-academic achievements.
"The selection of SMAN 2 Tambun Selatan as a Maung School is both a mandate and a motivation for us to continue improving the quality of education. This program is expected to encourage the development of high-achieving students and strengthen a competitive and positive learning culture," he said.
Burhanudin hopes that support from the West Java Provincial Government, Bekasi Regency Government, and the business world can accelerate the realization of superior schools that produce high-achieving generations.
