PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Caravanserai Collective through the Caravan Story program supports the “Bandung Has Stories” program initiated by the Bandung City Government (Pemkot).

The program officially starts on June 28 and will present various training and a space for sharing inspiring stories for the community.

Co-Founder of The Caravanserai Collective Asia (Cerita Caravan) Rahimah Abdulrahim assessed this program as a real step in strengthening the culture of storytelling and building a sense of belonging to the city.

"The story is not just about entertainment. It is our way of dialogue, conveying values, and creating a sense of mutual understanding. This program is an opportunity to spread the spirit of sharing good stories," said Ima, her nickname at the Asia Afrika Microlibrary, Bandung City, Monday (5/19/2025).

One of the interesting things about this program is the existence of small trainings that facilitate the community to tell their stories, not only from Bandung, but also from various parts of Indonesia.

The Story Ambassadors involved come from various regional and professional backgrounds.

In this regard, Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan hopes that there will be a proper book curation so that the public can access knowledge easily.

"Imagine there are story books that can be found on the side of the road, not just as decorations, but can actually be read and used. This is not about fulfilling obligations, but how we make this city a home for ideas and stories," he said.

For Farhan, the essence of “Bandung Punya Cerita” is to strengthen the sense of belonging to the city.

He hopes that this program will not only be a temporary event or just branding, but will become a sustainable movement that touches the hearts of the people.

"We want this program to have a 'sense of belonging'. It's not just about Bandung being told, but Bandung living in the stories of its people," he said.

Caravan Stories invites the public to continue to follow and participate in this program through the Instagram account @ceritacaravan. (Bandung City Communications and Information Service/UPI)
