PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Three cows belonging to breeders in Bandung City were chosen to be one of President Jokowi's sacrificial animals this year. The simental and limousine cattle weigh around 1.2 tons and are selected through strict selection until they are declared fit.

"After we submitted and went through various selection processes, including the last health check, we were able to qualify to become the president's sacrificial animal," said Head of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Division of Bandung City DKPP Wilsandi Saefullah at City Hall, Wednesday (12/6/2024)

The cow that the President is interested in belongs to a breeder named Vandry Dwitama from Cibiru, Bandung City. The three are named Ganesha, Ragasa and Gerengseng.

The three have a detailed weight of 1,103 kg, 1,130 kg and 1,188 kg respectively with a price of IDR 100 million.

The three cows have gone through a selection process starting from a screening process at the provincial level and then examined by the Presidential team starting from checking their height, body circumference to blood tests to be tested in the laboratory.

"Of course, this is a source of pride because cows from breeders from Bandung City were chosen by the President to be used as sacrificial animals," he said.

The choice of a cow from the city of Bandung to be the presidential sacrificial cow is not the first time. Previously, in 2022 and 2023, 1 cow was also selected.

Later, the three of them will be slaughtered at the Cipanas Palace, Istiqlal Mosque and Al Jabbar Grand Mosque.
