PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Special Legal Team received 1,282 legal cases from the public during 2025. As many as 80 percent of these legal cases have been successfully resolved.

This was stated by the Head of the West Java Special Legal Team, Jutek Bongso, in a press conference in Bandung, Wednesday (18/2/2026).

"Currently, around 20 percent is still in the process of being completed by our team," he said.

Jutek stated that, when combined with complaints received through mid-February 2026, the total number had reached over 2,000. These complaints were received at two locations: Lembur Pakuan Subang and Balai Pananggeuhan Gedung Sate Bandung, and processed free of charge.

"We guarantee that there will be no fees, aka it's free. If anyone claiming to be an advocate from the West Java Special Legal Team asks for fees, the public must firmly reject them," he said.

He detailed that of the 80 percent of complaints that were successfully resolved, the most cases were related to agrarian issues, reaching 40 percent.

"Many agrarian cases have been unresolved for years, and we have finally resolved them," he said.

Furthermore, approximately 27 percent related to criminal matters, including women, 7 percent to broken promises or fraud, and 6 percent to child crimes. The team also found that some people had filed complaints, but when they tried to follow up, they were difficult to contact and deemed no longer in need of assistance. Such cases accounted for 3 percent of the total complaints received.

In addition to these cases, many people have also complained about debts and online loans. In these cases, the legal team politely declined. This is because the West Java Special Legal Team was established to assist with legal cases for West Java residents that have been unaddressed or unresolved.

He also advised the public not only to file complaints at Lembur Pakuan Subang and Gedung Sate Bandung, but also in five other West Java residency areas closer to their homes: Bale Pakuan Padjadjaran in Bogor, Bale Sri Baduga in Purwakarta, Bale Jaya Dewata in Cirebon, Bale Dewa Niskala in Priangan Garut, and Bale Pakuan in Greater Bandung.

"We are present in 27 regencies/cities in West Java, with a total of 250 advocates. However, the public still prefers to file complaints directly with the KDM. We inform them that we are an extension of the KDM in resolving legal issues for the people of West Java," he said.

Head of the West Java Provincial Legal Bureau, Yogi Gautama, said that the program for community protection and empowerment in the legal field had long been promoted, but it was only under KDM's leadership that it could be realized.

"Don't give up on fighting for justice for the people of West Java. This team can also serve as a national model to be emulated and implemented," he said.

He said a digital complaint handling system would be created, allowing the public to monitor the handling of their complaints in real time.

"The socialization of the legal complaint program through the West Java Special Legal Team will continue to be carried out so that the people of West Java have equal access to the law and to increase legal literacy in West Java," he said.
