PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Square Microlibrary is present as the first library in Indonesia to carry the Anti-Corruption Education and Literacy Program (Pelita Aksi). The location is in Bandung City Square.

This library is equipped with facilities ranging from a lobby, children's, youth, adult rooms, toilets, rooftop and multipurpose room with a building area of 1,200 square meters.

A total of 7,058 copies of books are in the microlibrary. 600 of these books are anti-corruption educational books from the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Bandung City Intermediate Expert Librarian, Tata Takwana, said that libraries are obliged to innovate through various programs. Like this microlibrary, there are various programs including storytelling, borrowing using reading carts, libraries in the box, and mobile cars to serve communities on the outskirts of Bandung City.

There are also training programs to develop library managers in the city of Bandung, namely the TBM (Community Reading Park) program, Reading Corners, and cafes that provide reading books.

"It's easy for the people of Bandung City to increase their awareness every day about how important reading is," he said.

The books provided in the Bandung City Square microlibrary are stock books, meaning that not all books are purchased through publishers. Books become reserves to be reproduced so that people's needs for books are guaranteed to remain met. Apart from that, the books provided are not just the wishes of the librarian, but through a little research into the surrounding community.

This library is open Monday to Friday from 08.00-15.00 WIB. (rdp*)
