PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - As many as 1,000 people took part in the Color Run organized by the Bandung City General Election Commission (KPU) (3/11/2024).

In addition, the Bandung City KPU also held a Jaipong Siuh dance which was followed by 1,000 dancers. The dancers were high school/vocational school students who were also new voters. The target is for the Bandung City KPU to record a MURI record for dancing Jaipong with 1,000 people.

According to the Head of the Division of Socialization of Voter Education, Community Participation and Human Resources (HR) of the Bandung City KPU, Wenti Frihadianti, these two events are an effort to socialize the Bandung Mayoral Election on November 27.

He added that the activity aims to increase public participation in the 2024 Mayoral and Deputy Mayoral Elections.

"This is to increase public participation because it also invites all elements, followed by colleagues with disabilities with high enthusiasm. On the other hand, we also socialize the stages of the election," he said.

In addition, there is the Baraya Bergema (Together with Youth's Grip) activity with the theme of New Voters at the Fingertips, for the Sake of Building the Country.

Hopefully, this activity can encourage the community, especially new voters, to actively participate in the regional elections, both by voting and participating in the election process more critically and responsibly.

"The purpose of this activity is to increase public awareness about the importance of exercising the right to vote. Meman in Bandung City there are 17 percent of new voters from the total DPT of 1,887,881," explained Wenti. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
