PORTALJABAR, SUBANG REGENCY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi continues his efforts to increase job absorption in West Java. One approach is strengthening the integration of senior high schools (SMA) and vocational high schools (SMK) with industry.

Both parties will collaborate to prepare high school and vocational school students to acquire the technical skills needed by industry. Furthermore, according to Dedi, vocational schools should also be equipped with specialized industrial-specific programs. This way, upon graduation, students can be directly absorbed into the industry.

"Going forward, technical personnel must be prepared starting in the 10th grade of high school and vocational school. The classes will be integrated (with industry)," said KDM while attending the inauguration of the BYD electric vehicle factory at the Subang Smartpolitan Industrial Park on Thursday (September 3, 2026).

Increasing employment absorption by industry will create a new middle class.

At the event, KDM took the opportunity to observe the electric vehicle manufacturing process and interact with the workers. He was pleased to learn that the workers came from several areas in West Java. This demonstrates the BYD factory's continued absorption of local labor.

He hopes that every investment coming into West Java will open up new jobs, stimulate the regional economy, and strengthen West Java's competitiveness.

As a result, West Java can continue to strengthen its position as the engine of the national economy and the locomotive of investment in Indonesia's manufacturing industry.
