PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BANDUNG - Acting (Acting) Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin visited the Old Citarum Bridge in the Dayeuhkolot area, Bandung Regency, Saturday (2/12/2023).

The review was carried out as a response and follow-up to the report from Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna at the coordination meeting of regional heads at BIJB Kertajati yesterday, Friday (1/12/2023).

"This bridge is indeed cracked. So today I inspected it and we are trying to start repairing it or building a new one," said Bey.

According to Bey, the bridge is very crucial for the circulation of vehicles, so his party will make efforts so that repairs can be carried out.

"We are trying to start work next year. Because of need. Because of traffic jams and this is dangerous," said Bey.

Apart from inspecting the Old Citarum Bridge, Bey also monitored potential flooding with the Citarum River Basin Center (BBWS).

According to Bey, for the South Bandung area, especially Dayeuhkolot and its surroundings, flooding has reduced. If flooding occurs during heavy rain, it will recede quickly.

Meanwhile, Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna appreciated the West Java Provincial Government, especially Acting. The Governor and his staff, who are responsive to their aspirations.

"Thank God, yesterday I was invited to a coordination meeting with regional heads in Kertajati, and I said that one of the obstacles was the Citarum Bridge in Dayeuhkolot," said Dadang.

"Mr (Acting) Governor immediately responded to see the location, and hopefully in 2024 the construction will be carried out," he added.

Dadang said that his party was ready to move if there were technical needs for bridge construction that had to be carried out by the Bandung Regency Regional Government, such as land acquisition.

"Mr Governor, BBWS, and Head of the West Java Highways and Spatial Planning Service (DBMPR), thank you, what is clear is that this is a priority," he said.
