PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government continues to strive to present Bandung as a comfortable city. One aspect of concern is spatial layout.
The Regional Secretary of the City of Bandung, Ema Sumarna, advised the ranks of the Bandung City Regional Government OPD to work together to improve the quality of spatial and aesthetic aspects.
For example, Ema described the Jalan Ir. H Djuanda (Dago), Jalan Tamansari, and Jalan Cihampelas which continue to be in the process of becoming comfortable areas.
“The spatial and aesthetic aspects of this area need to be improved. We saw on Jalan Dago, where the fiber cable had been moved down. The pedestrian bridge (JPO) also no longer exists, the sidewalk can be enjoyed by pedestrians. "This is an example where the space for movement is wide and of course provides comfort," said Ema (1/12/2023).
He gave several notes on these areas. For example, in the Street Vendors (PKL) area in Gelap Nyawang ITB.
Even though the arrangement is in progress, Ema hopes that it is not only the street vendors here who will be arranged. But also parking arrangements. According to him, this needs to be done so that space for movement in this area returns to freedom.
Furthermore, in the Jalan Tamansari area, Ema asked that the sidewalks in this area not be used as parking lots. He strictly forbids all sidewalks from being used as parking spaces.
“The sidewalk is the right of pedestrians. "There is not the slightest space for vehicles to park on the sidewalk," he said.
"That's why we also installed balls on the sidewalk (as engineering). "So in the future, there will be no spaces for parking in this area," explained Ema.
Furthermore, he also asked that sidewalk repairs on Jalan Cihampelas must pay attention to pedestrian needs.
Ema reminded that this area should not be filled with street vendors or illegal parking.
"Our target is to complete sidewalk repairs, one of which is on Jalan Cihampelas, in December 2023. I see that there are still several ornaments that are not yet synergistic. "Even so, improvements in this area continue to be in progress," he said.
As a tourist destination, Ema reminded that development in the Jalan Cihampelas area needs to be carefully considered and prepared.
"I think it needs to be equipped with greening aspects, for example, because this is a tourist area that we need to prepare proportionally," he explained.
The Bandung City Government confirmed that sidewalk repairs on three roads will be completed by the end of this year. The three roads include Jalan Cihampelas, Jalan Gatot Subroto and Jalan Pasir Kaliki.
