PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - PT Kereta Api Indonesia Daop 2 Bandung has started selling train tickets for the 2023/2024 Christmas holidays starting November 6 2023 for departures December 21 2023 to. January 7, 2024.

Tickets can be purchased via the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, as well as all other official train ticket booking channels and are open H-45 before the scheduled departure. As of November 14, Daop 2 Bandung recorded that 17,287 long-distance train tickets had been sold for departures during that period.

Daop 2 Bandung Public Relations Manager Mahendro Trang Bawono said, before buying tickets, it would be a good idea for prospective train passengers to pay attention to several things.

"Hopefully these tips can help prospective passengers to enjoy the Christmas and New Year 2024 holidays using train transportation later," said Mahendro, Tuesday (14/11/2023).

1. Determine the travel schedule well

Make sure your travel time follows the holiday schedule set by the government. Based on the Joint Decree of 3 Ministers, the government has declared a national holiday for Christmas Day and a joint holiday for Christmas Day on 25-26 December 2024. Next, estimate the travel time from home to the departure station, because if you are late your ticket will be forfeited.

2. Use Official Sales Channels

To avoid fraud, system disruption, or unreasonable service fees, make sure to order Nataru tickets through official KAI channels such as the Access by KAI application which can be downloaded on Android or the App Store, website kai.id, KAI Contact Center at (021)121 , and ordering counters at stations. Apart from that, prospective passengers can also buy tickets through official partners who have collaborated with KAI.

3. Make sure the internet connection is stable

Before ordering tickets online, you also need to make sure your internet connection is stable. This ensures that the ordering process runs smoothly from the start until the tickets are successfully obtained. Usually there is a surge in the number of visitors to online Nataru ticket sales channels. For this reason, KAI has also anticipated this by increasing server capacity and bandwidth twice as much as normal days.

4. Be more careful when entering dates, routes or passenger personal data

So that prospective passengers can be more careful in inputting the date, route or passenger's personal data when making a booking. It's best if you have typed all your personal data on your laptop or cell phone, so you just have to copy and paste it into the online ticket order form. That way, you don't have to bother retyping them one by one and can save time.

5. Prepare Alternative Routes and Dates

If the desired ticket has been sold out, customers can choose an alternative date or use the Connecting Train feature in the Access by KAI application which will help provide travel options by combining connecting train schedules. For example, if the Jakarta to Surabaya route runs out, you can order the Jakarta – Bandung route first, then continue from Bandung to Surabaya, which is still relatively plentiful. Or you can also use the Connecting Train feature, for example from Jakarta-Yogyakarta then Yogyakarta-Surabaya. Make sure the train times are not too close so you don't miss the connecting train schedule. In addition, try to adjust your travel dates to avoid departures on favorite dates.

6. Check Ticket Availability Regularly

KAI provides cancellation and schedule change services both on the Access by KAI application and at stations. Therefore, if a ticket is canceled or the schedule is changed, the old ticket will reappear in the ticketing system to be resold to the public through all KAI sales channels.

7. Don't share booking codes carelessly

KAI also appeals to train customers not to share booking codes or proof of train ticket purchases. This is to minimize misuse of booking codes by irresponsible parties.
