PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - As an effort to reduce traffic congestion, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) continues to accelerate the construction of the Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road (BIUTR).

"The target until 2025 is a design review. We will check the design again, there is also a possibility that the route will be improved to meet the standards as a toll road," said Acting Mayor of Bandung, A. Koswara, Wednesday (9/10/2024).

He said, the existing condition of the development target will definitely change. So it needs evaluation for maximum development.

"Conditions on the ground have changed. There are flyovers, building construction, so the level of difficulty of construction is being re-evaluated," he said.

Koswara said, overall the BIUTR project has been taken over by the central government. So the region only needs to support and social conditioning in the community.

"Overall, BIUTR has been taken over by the central government, so we are just waiting for field support and then the social conditions of the community," he said.

Regarding the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) and investment auction will be held around 2025. This DED is a technical design document that details all aspects of the construction project, such as structural, mechanical, electrical design, and material specifications.

"So in 2025, the DED and investment auction will be. If the DED and auction are complete, construction must begin in 2026," he said.

When asked about the target for completion of the construction, Koswara said that the construction depends on the land that will be the target.

"Development depends on the land. Usually the obstacle is the land, hopefully because this has been prepared for a longer time, the land can be resolved with the help of all parties," said Koswara.

For the route, start from Jalan Pasteur - Jalan Pasupati - Gasibu. Alternative 1 to Cicaheum and alternative 2 enter Jalan Supratman - Antapani.

"The route is Jalan Pasteur towards Pasupati, possibly alternative 1 continues to Cicaheum. Alternative 2 is being studied, namely going to Supratman and continuing to Antapani. This is being compared to which one is more efficient," he said.

According to him, the BIUTR inner-city toll road is planned to connect the northern and southern areas of Bandung City.

This project aims to improve accessibility and reduce congestion in Bandung City and its surroundings.

"So that the northern and southern areas of the Bypass road (Soekarno Hatta) connect with the Padaleunyi toll road through gate 149 and Jalan Rumah Sakit, ending in Cibiru - Cileunyi," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Revo)
