PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - The Lulut Nambo Waste Processing and Final Processing Site (TPPAS) is planned to be operational next June. This was said by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Java Province Herman Suryatman when directly monitoring the Lulut Nambo TPPAS trial, Friday (17/5/2024).
Regarding this matter, Acting Regent of Bogor Asmawa Tosepu requested, as host, that the quota of waste entering the Lulut Nambo TPPAS from Bogor Regency be increased. In order to reduce the burden on the Galuga Final Waste Disposal Site (TPAS) and overcome waste management problems in Bogor Regency.
It is known that TPPAS Lulut Nambo is currently undergoing final trials before finally starting operations next June. Currently, the Lulut Nambo TPPAS can only accommodate a minimum waste capacity of 50 tons per day. However, it will continue to be developed until it can accommodate 1,800-2,300 tonnes per day in 2026.
TPPAS Lulut Nambo itself serves the management of waste coming from Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Depok City and South Tanggerang City.
Asmawa explained, with the existence of the Lulut Nambo TPPAS, part of Bogor Regency's waste management was transferred here, so it was not fully managed at the Galuga TPAS.
"The hope is that because the TPPAS location is in the Bogor Regency area, the quota for Bogor Regency can be bigger than others," he said.
Asmawa explained that the amount of waste in Bogor Regency is 2,690 tons per day, only 30 percent of which can be handled. If the Lulut Nambo TPPAS is operational, it will at least reduce the load of waste entering the Galuga TPAS.
"Of the total amount of waste per day, only 30 percent can be handled. With the Lulut Nambo TPPAS, it is certainly hoped that there will be an increase," he said.
Asmawa also said that the operational trial of the Lulut Nambo TPPAS was important to find out how big the impact was, both the social impact on the community and so on.
"If the impact has been mapped, the government can immediately carry out an evaluation to minimize the negative impact on the community. In essence, the Bogor Regency Government really supports and encourages this TPPAS to operate immediately for the benefit of the community," he said.
Furthermore, the hope of increasing the Bogor Regency waste quota that could be accommodated in the Lulut Nambo TPPAS was also agreed by West Java Provincial Secretary Herman Suryatman. According to him, as host, Bogor Regency will of course be prioritized.
"Currently, the minimum total capacity at TPPAS is 50 tons, but we are still trying to make it bigger. Of course, as the host, Bogor Regency will be prioritized," said Herman.
Herman explained that he was assigned by the Acting Governor of West Java to accelerate the operationalization of the Lulut Nambo TPPAS, which had to be accelerated because it was to anticipate waste management in several districts/cities.
"Of course, with this acceleration, we hope that operations will start in June. Let's work together to make the Lulut Nambo TPPAS a success," he said.
Herman said that it could be operational at the latest by the end of June. So this trial is to ensure readiness and find out what needs to be evaluated, so that when the time comes the Lulut Nambo TPPAS is ready to operate.
"For now we are still using the Galuga TPAS, but the TPAS has its season, it is likely that next year it will be full, so we are preparing alternatives from now on, one of which is the Lulut Nambo TPPAS," he said.
Herman said that today his party started the final trial, approximately 50 tons of waste was managed to become Biomass and RDF. This waste output can be absorbed for company needs, currently one of which is PT. Indocement.
"We are trying to get good prices for the results of this waste management so that we can guarantee the sustainability of this TPPAS. This is a form of cooperation between the government and the private sector in waste management," he said.
Herman hopes that TPPAS can run successfully, primarily for the benefit of the community. This is a form of government service to the community, one of which is managing waste.
