PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said that PLN managed to record the largest profit in the company's history by achieving a net profit of IDR 22.07 trillion in 2023, while also scoring a hat trick of net profit records for three consecutive years since 2021.
“This is the result of the transformation efforts we have carried out. Changing the perspective in providing services to customers. "In the past we were only oriented towards electricity supply, now we are oriented towards customer demand and satisfaction," said Darmawan, Thursday (30/5/2024).
The largest income was obtained from electricity sales growth of 5.36 percent from 273.76 Terra Watt hour (TWh) in 2022 to 288.44 TWh in 2023. This makes income from electricity sales in 2023 reach IDR 333.19 trillion or an increase of IDR 22.13 trillion in 2022.
"We are no longer just doing it, but now we are directly waiting to see customer needs. "We ensure that PLN is ready to meet every customer need," said Darmawan.
The highest electricity sales were obtained from the business and industrial sectors, namely reaching 145.70 TWh or an increase of 6.69 TWh compared to 2022. Then the household sector reached 122.34 TWh or an increase of 6.24 TWh compared to 2022. For other sectors it reached 20, 4 TWh or an increase of 1.75 TWh compared to 2022.
"PLN is presenting a promo program, a captive power acquisition program that invites business and industrial customers to switch from using their own power plants to PLN. "Digitizing every business process," said Darmawan
"Through the extensification strategy, PLN created new electricity demand that answered electricity needs throughout the country, thereby succeeding in increasing the company's electricity sales by 4.68 TWh," he added.
Darmawam explained that through an extensification strategy, PLN continues to provide service innovation through electrifying agriculture and electrifying marine programs. Until December 2023, PLN has connected electricity to agricultural and marine businesses, with a total installed power of 317 Megavolt Ampere (MVA) and electricity consumption of 153.59 Giga Watt hour (GWh).
“PLN is also actively supporting the growth of the electric vehicle ecosystem. Throughout 2023 the number of home charging units has reached 9,393 units, an increase of more than 10 times from 2022. Meanwhile the number of SPKLU has reached 624 units, an increase of more than 2 times from 2022. The addition of this infrastructure makes power consumption for electric vehicles reach 5,401 MWh , increasing more than 5 times compared to 2022," he explained.
The increase in income was achieved not only from selling electricity, but also from business development outside the electricity sector or beyond kWh. This business includes providing primary energy for private generators, telecommunications network services, maintenance of electricity infrastructure, rental of equipment and electricity infrastructure, as well as electricity project review services for other business entities.
