PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The trend in prices of basic necessities and important goods (bapokting) in West Java has decreased.
A number of commodities that tend to experience price declines are rice, chilies and eggs. No commodity prices rose significantly. However, you have to be careful about meat commodities because the consumption weight is high.
Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin hopes that stocks of basic necessities will be maintained so that there are no turmoil.
"The psychology of demand must be maintained so that there is no excessive spike in demand, because when there is a lot of demand, traders are usually opportunists. Quite massive socialization must be carried out," said Bey.
He also hopes that the role of ulama or community leaders can directly appeal to the public not to shop excessively.
"The role of ulama and community leaders is important to convey to the public not to overdo their shopping," he added.
Currently, specifically for rice, in several places the harvest has been harvested after experiencing delays of around two months due to weather factors.
Bey requested that the harvest be carried out by West Java itself.
"There is already harvest in several places. We are trying to absorb the results from West Java through Bulog. Because if it is bought by Cipinang (Jakarta Cipinang Market) and then returned to West Java, it will be more expensive. Our BUMD does not have enough funds to buy," he stressed.
Bey also asked that the harvest must now be strictly maintained because it has been delayed by two months. Don't let it get damaged due to flooding and so on.
