PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government is preparing to launch a social program entitled "Bekasi Asih Ka Indung" as an effort to accelerate the eradication of extreme poverty.

This program, which is a follow-up to the West Java Provincial Government's initiative, targets 1,100 underprivileged residents in 23 sub-districts, by involving all regional apparatuses and cross-institutions to realize accurate data and targeted aid interventions.

Deputy Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, conveyed this after leading a meeting with cross-regional apparatus in the Meeting Room of the Bekasi Regency Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), on Tuesday (8/4/2025).

"This program aims to be a vehicle for the concern of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to help underprivileged communities, with the hope of ending extreme poverty, which is recorded at 1,100 people and spread across 23 sub-districts," said Asep Surya Atmaja.

He added that the initial launch of the program is planned to be carried out on Friday (10/4/2025) in Pebayuran District. The form of assistance to be provided is still in the process of further discussion, taking into account the needs in the field so that the assistance is truly useful and supports the economic independence of the recipients.

"We are still discussing the assistance, it can be in the form of cash, goods, or work support needs. The goal is so that they can work well and have enough income to meet their family's needs," he explained.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the implementation of the program will be carried out in stages and continuously until the target of extreme poverty in Bekasi Regency reaches zero percent. All beneficiary data will be synchronized between agencies to ensure there is no overlap and targeting errors.

With integrated implementation and involving all stakeholders, the Bekasi Regency Government is optimistic that the “Bekasi Asih Ka Indung” program can run effectively and sustainably. It is hoped that through synergy between regional devices and adjustments to the form of assistance that suits the needs of the community, the target of eliminating extreme poverty in Bekasi Regency can be achieved comprehensively and on target.
