PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Two years from now or 2025 to be precise, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) will complete the 20-year Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJDP). This is documented in Regional Regulation number 8 of 2005 concerning RPJPD for 2005 - 2025.

In order to achieve long-term development, the Bandung City Government has prepared an initial plan. The RPJPD will be a guideline for the elected Mayor for the next 20 year period. Everything is explained in objectives, strategies, as well as development stages and priorities.

"The planning cycle has been regulated by law. For the next 20 years this must be prepared. So today there is a public consultation on the initial plan that has been prepared. We want to know and input from the community," said the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono at the 2025 - 2045 RPJPD Public Consultation activity, at the Horison Hotel, Monday (18/12/2023).

According to him, this public consultation forum is a forum for uniting visions, dialogue and exchanging ideas, as well as formulating a common vision towards a more advanced, just Bandung with sustainable development.

"Not only is it a supporter of Golden Indonesia 2045, but also a city that is global and increasingly taken into account by the international world. We all hope for a city that has an advanced economy and superior human resources," he said.

He emphasized that the 2025-2045 Bandung City RPJPD was prepared using a technocratic, participatory, holistic-thematic, integrative and spatial approach.

For this reason, continued Bambang, it is necessary to involve various development actors to produce plans that can answer community needs and city problems.

"This is important as a basis for preparing future development plans," he said.

Head of the Bandung City Planning, Research and Development Agency (Bappelitbang), Anton Sunarwibowo, revealed that this public consultation forum is one of the many stages in preparing the Bandung City RPJPD for 2025-2045.

"Starting from the preparation of the initial RPJPD plan to the determination of the RPJPD," he said.

According to him, before the public consultation forum was held, a series of stages had been carried out in preparing the Bandung City RPJMD for 2025-2045, including:

1. Preparation of an evaluation of the Bandung City RPJPD for 2005-2025 in June 2023.

2. Preparation of "background" studies and strategic problems and issues for the City of Bandung which have been carried out in the period October - December 2023.

3. The team to prepare the Bandung City RPJPD for 2025-2045 was prepared in November 2023.

"The public consultation forum was carried out based on the regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia number 86 of 2017 concerning Procedures for Planning, Controlling and Evaluation of Regional Development," he said.

"This aims to obtain input to improve the initial plan for the Bandung City RPJPD for 2025-2045," he said. (rdp*)
