PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin attended the Stunting Award Action (ASA) event at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Bandung City, Tuesday (11/26/2024).

At the event themed "Knitting Hope for West Java", Bey said, this is one of the efforts of the West Java Provincial Government in reducing stunting rates and also giving appreciation to district and city governments that have made innovations in reducing stunting .

"This is an effort by the West Java Provincial Government to reduce stunting rates. I am sure that those who do not receive appreciation will also carry out a movement to reduce stunting ," he said.

Bey is optimistic that currently in the series of processes for implementing the Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI), it can show a decrease in the prevalence of stunting in an effort to reduce stunting rates in West Java.

"Our efforts in West Java have been massive, such as providing additional food and supervision through cooperation with various parties, including students, the community, and cadres," said Bey.

"Seeing the efforts made, I am optimistic (the stunting rate) will decrease," he added.

In dealing with stunting , Bey said, cooperation is needed from various parties from the bottom to the top because stunting needs to be monitored in detail on a daily basis.

"Handling of stunting must be done through daily supervision and assistance, that is what we all must do," he said.

"So it has to be more detailed, it can't just be released like that. There are many things that need to be informed and educated to the public," said Bey.

Making innovations

He hopes that with this award, all district and city governments in West Java can make many innovations to reduce stunting rates.

"We have all agreed with all the Regents and Mayors. Everyone agrees that stunting is truly a joint effort and must be done together. That is the key," said Bey.

"Together, not only at the government level, but also at the lower level, and they must go down to the bottom, both regents, mayors, sub-district heads, village heads, and village heads must go down to the community," he said.

In addition, Bey also appreciated the Provincial and City/District Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team (TPPS) for their achievements and real contributions in efforts to reduce stunting in West Java.

"Let us increase synergy, collaboration, and commitment to ensure that the next generation of West Java grows into a healthy, intelligent, and competitive generation," concluded Bey.
