PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - Sindangrasa Village, Ciamis District, represented West Java in the 2026 National Selection of Outstanding Villages and Villages through online presentations and interviews (8/10/2026).

The assessment stage was held by the Directorate General of Village Governance Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, through the Zoom Meeting application from the Sindangrasa Village office.

Ciamis Regent Herdiat Sunarya and West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan were present to accompany the presentation process as a form of support for the village's achievements.

This year's recruitment carries the theme "Village and Sub-district Transformation as Pillars of National Resilience towards Golden Indonesia 2045" with a focus on innovation and community development.

Assessment aspects include the use of digital technology, strengthening the local economy, improving the quality of public services, and building community resilience.

Herdiat said that Sindangrasa's achievements demonstrate efforts to implement policy directions in the Ciamis Regency Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) 2025–2030 at the sub-district level.

"Our goal isn't just to compete. The most important thing is how the vision, mission, and priority programs of Ciamis Regency, the province, and even the nation can be implemented within the community. Thank God, Sindangrasa Village has been able to demonstrate this," said Herdiat.

He appreciated the village head and the Sindangrasa community who were considered capable of mobilizing residents to support the implementation of government programs in their environment.

Herdiat ensured that the Ciamis Regency Government would continue to monitor the sustainability of programs in Sindangrasa, especially in basic education, health, and community empowerment services.

"I'm proud to have a village head like this. He's a fighter, brave enough to get involved directly, and able to mobilize the community," he said.

West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan said the appointment of Sindangrasa as West Java's representative reflects the achievements and commitment to service that have been highlighted in national-level assessments.

According to Erwan, the success of a sub-district is not only determined by the results of the competition, but also the ability of the local government to provide services that have a direct impact on the community.

"It's not about who wins, or how you follow the steps. What matters most is our commitment to serving the community, and how the sub-district can be present and make a real impact on the community," said Erwan.

Sindangrasa's participation at the national level is expected to encourage the sustainability of community-based innovation and development while also being an inspiration for other sub-districts in Ciamis Regency.
