PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung City - As a form of support for the empowerment of the people's economy, the Ministry of SOEs and PT PLN through the PLN Peduli program provided training and certification assistance for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) who are members of Rumah BUMN Cirebon.

Rumah BUMN Cirebon is a forum formed by the Ministry of BUMN and PT PLN as a gathering center for MSME actors to learn, share, and grow together.

Until December 2024, Rumah BUMN Cirebon has accommodated 997 MSMEs consisting of 948 micro MSMEs and 49 small MSMEs with various business sectors, ranging from culinary, fashion, handicrafts, services, agriculture, fisheries, to animal husbandry.

Since 2018, Rumah BUMN Cirebon has held 350 training sessions involving more than 4,385 participants. Not only that, but the assistance also includes licensing and certification facilities such as BPOM (19 MSMEs), Intellectual Property Rights (HKI - 81 MSMEs), halal certification (204 MSMEs), and AKG (1 MSME). Basic permits such as NIB and SP-PIRT are also directly given to members upon registration.

In 2025, Rumah BUMN Cirebon together with PLN designed various new programs to encourage MSMEs to be more ready to face the international market, such as millennial business incubation programs, packaging design training, advanced IPR certification programs, and English classes for business actors. These programs are expected to be important provisions for MSMEs in conducting cross-country transactions and expanding the market globally.

General Manager of PLN West Java Distribution Unit Tonny Bellamy said that Rumah BUMN Cirebon continues to strive to increase the capacity and competitiveness of MSMEs in a sustainable manner.

"This is a real manifestation of PLN's contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially goals 1 (poverty alleviation), 8 (inclusive and sustainable economic growth), and 9 (innovation and industrialization)," said Tonny.

Yuli Hastuti, a participant in the Incubation program and a member of Rumah BUMN with an ecoprint fabric business, Swarna Alam, said that the Business Incubator Program at Rumah BUMN Cirebon was very helpful and changed mindsets.

"Honestly, I previously did not know how to manage sales, I only knew how to sell, sell, sell. Now I know how to manage a business from upstream to downstream including financial management. I was even invited to an exhibition and passed the national curation," he said.

Fatimah, a participant in the Business Incubator program with a salted egg business, also expressed her support for the training program at Rumah BUMN.

"Before entering the BUMN house, I did not know how to use a computer, 'gaptek'. Now I can operate a computer, know how to use social media for marketing and hopefully the Business Incubator program will continue to exist," explained Fatimah.

With the ongoing synergy between PLN and UMKM through Rumah BUMN, it is hoped that more local business actors will move up a class and be able to compete in the global market. (Diskominfo Kota Bandung/ Rani)
