PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - To reduce traffic jams in the Kordon Market area, Jalan Buah Batu, Kujangsari Village, Bandung Kidul District, the Regional Government (Pemda) of Bandung City will carry out traffic engineering starting Saturday, (2/3/2024).

"After seeing the location, we agreed that we would carry out a trial setting of traffic operating hours in the Kordon market area," said Bandung City Regional Secretary Ema Sumarna, while inspecting Kordon Market, Friday (1/3/2024)

Ema said, "Technically, trials for setting one-way operational hours in the area will be carried out at two times, namely in the morning at 06.00-08.00 WIB and in the afternoon at 16.00-18.00 WIB.

During these operational hours, motorists heading from the north of Jalan Buahbatu to Jalan Ciwastra will have one lane.

Apart from that, motorists from the direction of Ciwastra who are going to Jalan Buahbatu Canal will be directed to Jalan Logam then to Jalan Ciparay until they exit at Jalan Canal Buahbatu.

"People from the east of Ciwastra who want to go to Jalan Buahbatu can be turned onto Jalan Logam and exit at Jalan Ciparay. Meanwhile, for people who want to go to Jalan Buahbatu, we will direct Jalan Logam to Jalan Jalan Buahbatu. This means that at around 06.00-08.00 WIB it will be one way. "That also applies from 16.00-18.00 WIB," he said.

Ema said that the traffic engineering arrangements would continue to be evaluated. Later, if it is felt to have an impact and is successful in breaking down traffic jams, this pattern will be made permanent.

"We'll try it out. If we feel it's better, we'll make it permanent. Later we'll also get permission from the Chief of Police," he said.

Ema added that to help smooth traffic, she asked the Transportation Service to deploy officers assisted by the police and regional authorities.

"Hopefully this effort can be effective in reducing traffic jams in the Kordon Market area," he said. (Diskominfo Bandung City/Revo)
