PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) controlled a number of street vendors (PKL) in front of the Kembar Market on Jalan Moch Toha, Regol, Thursday (30/5/2024).
This step was taken to reduce traffic jams and organize the environment so that it is cleaner, more comfortable and gives a beautiful face to the city of Bandung.
Regol Subdistrict Head Sri Kurniasih said that this control had been planned two weeks ago through meetings with related agencies and local residents.
"All parties, including the management of Pasar Kembar and the local church, provide full support for the implementation of this control," said Sri at Pasar Kembar.
Sri said that the control was carried out according to procedures with wise solutions. Of the 96 street vendors recorded, around 30 traders from Bandung will be given priority to enter Pasar Kembar.
"The Kembar Market management also agreed to provide empty stalls for the traders to occupy," explained Sri.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Order Section of the Bandung City Satpol PP, Satriadi, said that this spilled market violates Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2011 concerning zoning because it is on a provincial road with red zone status.
“The main concern is an emergency at Sartika Asih Hospital which could be blocked by traffic. "There are many other violations such as selling on sidewalks and road shoulders and violating the Traffic Law," explained Satriadi.
Based on the Tumpah Market Regional Regulation, operational hours should be from 22.00 to 06.00 WIB.
“But in reality traders are still selling until 10 am. "Traders have been given warning letters regarding this enforcement," he explained.
Apart from that, the Satriadi community should not buy from street vendors who have not been recorded. Apart from that, if there is a violation by a naughty street vendor, immediately report it to the Bandung City Satpol PP or the nearest apartment.
"If you find naughty street vendors who don't follow the rules, immediately report them to Satpol PP so we can take action as soon as possible," said Satriadi. (Diskominfo Bandung City/Revo)
