PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government has affirmed its commitment to encouraging sustainable and inclusive investment growth through strengthening the business climate, infrastructure development, and improving the quality of human resources.

This commitment was conveyed by the Deputy Governor of West Java, Erwan Setiawan, while attending the 2026 Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) at the Pullman Hotel, Bandung City, Thursday (9/7/2026).

"The West Java Provincial Government is committed to supporting and encouraging sustainable and inclusive investment growth," he said in his remarks.

Erwan said the commitment is in line with the vision of West Java Special Region, namely realizing a West Java that is advanced, prosperous, and competitive through five main strategies.

The first strategy, Erwan said, is to strengthen the stability of the investment climate through legal certainty and security. All investment regulations must be transparent, accountable, and free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism (KKN).

The second strategy is to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to integrate into the industrial supply chain through collaboration between large industries and communities surrounding industrial areas so that economic benefits can be felt directly.

Furthermore, the West Java Provincial Government is accelerating the development of strategic infrastructure to support industrial areas.

"Accelerate strategic infrastructure development to support industrial areas by prioritizing infrastructure development and improvements and encouraging the placement or establishment of company centers in the West Java region," he said.

Regarding the employment sector, Erwan emphasized that the government continues to prepare a competent workforce through synergy between education and the business world. Furthermore, labor governance is being strengthened by eliminating brokering practices through the use of the Nyari Gawe digital platform.

The fifth strategy focuses on increasing investment incentives and facilitation through fast, efficient, and responsive services, along with strengthening partnerships between the government, business actors, and the community.

"This effort is being made to expand market access to labor," he said.

Erwan assessed that the holding of SIBS 2026 in Bandung would be an important momentum to expand economic cooperation between West Java and Selangor.

"The presence of SIBS 2026 in Bandung is a golden opportunity. I invite delegates, businesspeople, and investors from Selangor and other friendly countries to explore various opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation and build closer collaboration," he said.

Meanwhile, Selangor Chief Minister Dato Seri Amirudin Shari, revealed that Bandung would be the first location to hold SIBS outside Kuala Lumpur.

He appreciated the support of the West Java Provincial Government and the high enthusiasm of business actors and various agencies in West Java for organizing this activity.

"We are very grateful to the Deputy Governor of West Java. God willing, in the future we can pursue more opportunities for cooperation in business, trade, and other sectors," said Amirudin.

The event was also attended by Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan. Through SIBS 2026, the Selangor Government is targeting increased investment, trade, and collaboration in various strategic sectors, such as aerospace, railways, automotive, creative industries, energy, technology, and other priority sectors.

A total of 150 entrepreneurs and investors from Malaysia are scheduled to attend the forum to conduct business matching with West Java business actors, which is expected to give birth to investment cooperation that can boost economic growth in both regions.
