PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Deputy Governor of West Java Erwan Setiawan supports the implementation of Combat Sport Byon Madness 5 as a space for the younger generation to channel their talents and abilities in the field of martial arts professionally.

According to Erwan, the presence of this combat sports event is a positive effort to direct the interests and energy of the younger generation towards targeted sports activities, while also encouraging the development of martial arts in West Java.

"I would like to thank the Byon Madness management team for bringing together the younger generation to channel their talents in the real ring, not on the streets. Thank you and continued success," said Erwan while attending the Byon Madness 5 match at the Bandung Arena, Bandung City, Saturday (3/10/2026).

He also appreciated the trust of the organizers in choosing Bandung City as the location for the implementation of Byon Madness for the first time in West Java.

Erwan hopes that the event will contribute to the advancement of martial arts, especially combat sports, while also creating new pride for West Java through the achievements of regional athletes.

"Thank God, today I was able to attend Byon Madness 5 at the Bandung Arena in Bandung. Thank you to Byon Madness for organizing this event in Bandung. Hopefully, this will further enhance the pride of martial arts in West Java," he said.

This support aligns with West Java's potential as a region with a large athlete base and sports community. Through professional competitions, it is hoped that the younger generation will have the opportunity to develop their skills, build discipline, and achieve success at the national and international levels.

Meanwhile, the Main Director of BYON Combat, Yoshua Marcellos Muliardo or Cellos, said that BYON is an integrated martial arts media platform that is committed to developing combat sports, especially boxing and kickstriking .

Since its founding in 2023, BYON has continued to grow and gain recognition as one of the largest combat sports event organizers in Asia.

"One of our main visions is to make Indonesia the Heart and Hub of Combat Sports in Asia," said Cellos.

Byon Madness 5 was the inaugural BYON event in Bandung. The event featured several matches, including international matches, as part of a ticket battle to BYON Combat Showbiz 9: World Kickstriking Grand Prix .

In the main match, the athlete from West Java and national Muaythai champion, Mohamad Redho or Redho Rocky, faced Yearmie Lee, known as Sun Go Kong.

Yearmie Lee has experience competing in various national and international competitions and is ranked third in the 51 kilogram flyweight division of BYON Kickstriking .

The holding of Byon Madness 5 is expected to help introduce Bandung as a city with the potential to support the growth of the international sports and entertainment industry.

For West Java, this momentum also opens up opportunities for collaboration between the government, organizers, communities, and sports industry players to expand the space for athlete development and increase the region's attractiveness through professional sports activities.
