PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Deputy Governor of West Java Erwan Setiawan hopes that the National Conference and 3rd Anniversary of CommIT Indonesia will not only be a meeting forum for information technology (IT) activists, but will also be able to generate new ideas and innovations to address various digital challenges in Indonesia, especially in West Java.

This was conveyed by Erwan when attending the National Conference and 3rd Anniversary of CommIT Indonesia with the theme " Beyond Connectivity - Intelligent Ecosystems " in 2026 at the Holiday Inn Hotel Bandung, Saturday (22/8/2026).

While delivering a speech before hundreds of participants, Deputy Governor Erwan requested that the conference be able to give birth to innovation and strengthen transformation in the IT sector in West Java.

"I hope this conference will generate new ideas, so that the quality of IT in Indonesia, especially in West Java, will continue to improve," said Erwan.

Erwan also emphasized that the West Java Provincial Government fully supports the activities and collaborations established with the IT community. He believes the government cannot work alone in addressing the challenges of digital transformation, necessitating pentahelix synergy involving various stakeholders.

"The government certainly cannot act alone. We need pentahelix synergy. IT communities like CommIT Indonesia play a crucial role as an innovation bridge between research, industry, and public policy," he added.

He added that West Java has significant potential to develop a digital ecosystem. Of the 5,312 villages and approximately 600 sub-districts in West Java, nearly 95 percent of them now have internet access. Erwan hopes this figure can reach 100 percent next year.

For Erwan, equitable connectivity must be accompanied by the birth of innovations that provide tangible benefits. Therefore, he hopes the CommIT Indonesia forum can become a space for the birth of new ideas that not only address current technological challenges but also strengthen the digital ecosystem of West Java and Indonesia going forward.
