PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Deputy Governor of West Java Erwan Setiawan hopes that Mojang Jajaka (Moka) of West Java will have a strategic role as tourism ambassadors in introducing regional potential amidst the development of the digital era.

"Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka 2026 is a crucible. Today's tourism challenges require tourism ambassadors to be strategic communicators in the digital era," said Erwan Setiawan at the Grand Final of the 2026 West Java Mojang Jajaka Election at Maranatha Christian University in Bandung, Saturday (August 22, 2026).

Erwan hopes that the selected Moka will be able to package West Java's tourism potential with an approach that is relevant to Generation Z, without abandoning Sundanese cultural values.

According to him, the wastra worn by participants from 27 districts/cities is not just clothing, but a representation of the masterpiece and cultural identity of the Sundanese people.

"It's not just the clothes we wear, but also Sundanese masterpieces. Moka must be able to promote leading tourist destinations, including tourist villages, promote a creative economy based on textiles and culinary arts, and maintain the noble values of Sundanese culture in the eyes of Gen Z and the international community," he said.

Iendra Sofyan, Head of the West Java Tourism and Culture Office, added that each Mojang Jajaka must have a thorough understanding of their region's potential and leading destinations. Once selected, they are expected to demonstrate their capabilities through various projects that will impact the promotion of regional tourism.

"Because they will be tourism ambassadors in the future, they will serve as a promotional medium for tourism in West Java. Every Moka must be well-informed about the top destinations in their region," said Iendra.

Meanwhile, Mojang Pinilih West Java 2026 comes from Majalengka Regency, Tresna Winesa Eriska, while Jajaka Pinilih comes from Cimahi City, Alden Hugo Daffa Sampurno.
