PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG REGENCY - Deputy Governor of West Java (Jabar) Erwan Setiawan ensured that preparations for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming in West Java were running optimally.
This was conveyed after monitoring a number of Security Posts (Pos Pam) in the context of Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026, Wednesday (18/3/2026).
The review was carried out at three strategic points, namely the Ciakar Sumedang Terminal Security Post, the Cileunyi Security Post, and the Padalarang Security Post.
From the monitoring results, Erwan said that traffic conditions and the readiness of officers in the field were very good.
"Thank God, from Sumedang to Cileunyi, conditions are still very good, in terms of traffic safety and disaster preparedness," he said.
Even to date, there have been no reports of serious traffic accidents in the areas monitored by Erwan.
"There have been no accidents so far, and hopefully the return flow will remain safe," said the number two person in West Java.
In terms of infrastructure, provincial and national roads are also considered in fairly good condition. However, he continued to encourage district/city governments to promptly undertake repairs if damage is discovered in the field.
"We hope for the support of cities/districts and their rapid response units (URCs) if any roads need to be patched immediately. This way, there will be no obstacles during this year's homecoming traffic," he concluded.
He emphasized the importance of vigilance, especially in the Sumedang area which is known as a disaster-prone area.
All officers are asked to continue coordinating with the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) considering that rainfall is predicted to remain high until the end of March 2026.
On that occasion, Erwan also urged people planning to return home to prioritize health and safety during their journey. They should avoid tripping over illness.
