PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Secretary of the Bandung City Water Resources and Highways Agency, Dini Dianawati, explained that the acceleration of road repairs was carried out to provide more comfortable and aesthetic infrastructure for the community in a dialogue on Radio Sonata (14/4/2026).

The Bandung City Government is accelerating the repair of several road sections to ensure smoother mobility for residents and to improve the quality of the urban environment.

Dini Dianawati said that road management in Bandung City is divided into the authority of the central government, provincial government, and city government.

Even though the authorities are different, the government still carries out emergency response so that road damage does not endanger the public.

"If the situation is truly fatal, we will still assist with the handling. Because for the public, all roads in Bandung are a single service," said Dini.

The Bandung City Government also ensures that every road repair project is strictly monitored by a supervisory consultant who works under an official contract with the Commitment Making Officer.

This supervision is followed up with inspections by the inspectorate and the Audit Board to ensure that the quality of work meets standards.

Dini explained that the average age of hotmix asphalt roads in Bandung City is around five years, but damage is often influenced by suboptimal drainage systems and high rainfall.

Long-term standing water can damage the road structure, so repairs are not only carried out on the surface but also the drainage system.

Data from the Bandung City Water Resources and Highways Agency shows that the level of road stability in Bandung City has reached more than 90 percent.

The Bandung City Government invites the public to participate in maintaining public facilities so that road repairs and city planning can provide sustainable benefits.

"This beautification program is from us, for us. Let's maintain it together. Because all residents will benefit from the results," said Dini.

The public can also submit reports of road damage through official service channels so that handling can be carried out more quickly.
