PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Deputy Mayor of Bandung Erwin reminded the importance of seeking knowledge as an easy way to reach heaven at the 25th Semarak Ramadan Bandung Utama Titik event held in Astanaanyar District, Bandung City, Tuesday (25/3/2025).
In the sermon he delivered, he invited the public to continue to gain knowledge, practice it, and spread it as a form of worship to Allah SWT.
"Seeking knowledge is an obligation for every Muslim, as the Prophet Muhammad SAW said: 'Tholabul ilmi faridhotun 'ala kulli muslimin'," he said.
He explained that knowledge is the key to a better life, both in this world and in the hereafter.
Erwin also quoted a hadith from the Prophet SAW which mentioned four groups that are missed by heaven, namely those who like to read the Koran, guard their tongues, feed hungry people, and carry out fasting with full faith and sincerity.
"The month of Ramadan is the best moment to increase worship, one of which is by reading the Qur'an. Just one letter read can bring multiple rewards," he said.
In addition, he also reminded people to always guard their tongues, especially during the month of Ramadan.
"Don't let our words lead us into destruction. Ramadan is a time to improve ourselves, not only in terms of worship, but also morals," he said.
At the end of his sermon, Erwin invited the entire community to make the best use of the remaining Ramadan.
He hopes that everyone who attends the event will be among those who are longed for in heaven.
"May Allah SWT accept all our deeds of worship and give blessings to all of us. Amen, Rabbal 'alamin," he said.
