PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan appreciated the performance of all state civil servants (ASN) and regional officials who were deemed successful in overseeing two major agendas in Bandung in two consecutive weekends.

The two agendas are the celebration of Milangkala Tatar Sunda and the euphoria of Persib Bandung's victory, which again recorded the achievement of consecutive league titles.

In the Commencement Ceremony at Bandung City Hall, Monday (25/5/2026), Farhan said that this success was proof of Bandung City's capacity as a responsible host.

"Last week, we proved ourselves to be good hosts at the Milangkala Tatar Sunda Festival. This demonstrates our responsibility to West Java," he said.

He added that this success was tested again the following week when Bandung became the center of Persib's victory celebrations, which lasted for several days.

According to Farhan, these two moments not only bring joy to the people, but also test the readiness and unity of all levels of government.

Farhan likened the government's role to that of a host at a major event, not only enjoying the atmosphere but also ensuring all guests are well-served until the cleaning process is complete.

"After the party is over, it's the host who's busiest cleaning up. That's what we do," he said.

He also expressed his appreciation to all regional and territorial officials who had worked tirelessly, including in ensuring the cleanliness of the city after the event.

As a token of appreciation, Farhan gave civil servants and retirees the opportunity to come to the City Hall Plaza and take photos with the Persib championship trophy which was on display for a limited time.

He hopes that this appreciation can be an encouragement after all ranks have worked hard over the past two weeks.

On the other hand, Farhan also highlighted the importance of calculating the economic contribution of this major event, particularly from the entertainment tax sector for Persib matches.

However, he emphasized that support for Persib is not only assessed from an economic aspect, but also from the sense of pride and happiness of the people of Bandung City.

"Persib is a source of joy for the people. We're tired for a few days, but the joy lasts much longer," he said.

Farhan hopes this success will motivate all staff to continue improving services and maintaining the good name of Bandung City as a host for various major events.
