PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan encouraged schools in Bandung City to include knowledge related to waste management paradigms.

This is a form of early education so that students have knowledge regarding waste that must be resolved at the source.

"There should be no more words to throw garbage in its place. Because there are no more garbage disposal sites. At the end of this year, Sarimukti TPA will be closed, while Legoknangka TPA will still be a long time (operating)," he explained.

He encouraged all educational institutions in Bandung City to incorporate the paradigm of waste processing from the source.

"All primary and secondary educational institutions must clear their trash today," he said.

"We hope that every school has facilities and education for independent waste management, this is very important," he added.

In addition, he also continues to mobilize the regions to improve Waste Free Areas (KBS).

"The requirement for independent waste production management is 30 percent of waste in each RW. If that is the case, then every day it can reduce 30 percent of waste or 500 tons a day. That has been processed by residents," said Farhan. (Bandung City Government Public Relations/rka)
