The Mayor of Bandung Opens 24-Hour Community Health Centers, Making Life Easier for Residents

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Mayor of Bandung has provided 24-hour Community Health Center services in a number of areas so that residents can seek treatment in the morning, afternoon, and evening without being constrained by working hours, with 1,674 visits recorded from 12/1/2026 to 31/1/2026.

Bandung City Public Relations data shows that thousands of residents utilized the service in the first 19 days of operation in January 2026, thus meeting the need for medical treatment outside of morning hours.

Ana, a patient at Garuda Community Health Center, came in the afternoon after her activities so she didn't have to leave work to get health services.

"That's great, right? I mean, if you don't have time in the morning, some have work, some have school. You can go in the afternoon," he said.

Warsini finds it easier when complaints arise outside of normal hours, allowing her to go directly to the nearest community health center.

"Thank God, it's easier to get treatment. It's really helpful, if we have any complaints, we can come straight here," he said.

Vina believes this service helps workers with different schedules so they can still get medical check-ups.

"I think it's really good, really good, because not all patients can go to the clinic early in the morning for treatment. Maybe those who work in the evening and come home from work can come here. It's really helpful," he said.

Lusman uses the service when complaints arise in the afternoon or evening so he doesn't have to wait until the next day.

"If the pain is felt during the day or evening, I come straight here. It really helps. It's good, it's satisfying," he said.

The Bandung City Government also integrates health services with population administration so that babies born immediately receive a birth certificate, Child Identity Card, and Family Card renewal.

Rara admitted that the service at the Garuda Health Center was fast and friendly, making the examination process comfortable.

"Good, friendly, fast, and efficient. Thank God, it's good. Very good. Prompt. In my opinion, it's great. Good, yes," said Rara.

This service provides a real solution for residents who previously delayed seeking treatment due to time constraints, while also expediting the resolution of health complaints within the community. (Bandung City Communications and Information Service/bhf)
