PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, appreciates the role of the Public Broadcasting Institution (LPP) in disseminating government programs so that they are better known by the public.

This was conveyed by Farhan in an audience with TVRI staff at the LPP TVRI Office, Jalan Gerbang Pemuda No. 8, Senayan, Special Region of Jakarta (12/3/2025).

Farhan said that LPP such as Television of the Republic of Indonesia (TVRI) and Radio of the Republic of Indonesia (RRI) have an important role in ensuring accurate and credible information.

According to him, the existence of LPP is not only as a medium for conveying information, but also as the final verifier so that the public gets valid news.

"TVRI as LPP has a strategic role," said Farhan.

Farhan emphasized that the main principle in disseminating information is transparency. Therefore, LPP must remain the final verifier to ensure that the information received by the public is truly credible and trustworthy.

According to him, the communication strategy that is built must display the vision of Bandung Utama (Superior, Open, Trustworthy, Advanced, Religious) with more attractive visualizations.

"We have to discuss broadcasting techniques so that what is conveyed is not only in graphic form, but is visualized more effectively," added the information.

Farhan emphasized that collaboration with the media must show that all elements of society are working together to face the various challenges that exist.

Meanwhile, TVRI President Director, Imam Brotoseno, welcomed the idea and stated that TVRI is ready to help convey Bandung City Government programs to the public.

Furthermore, technically, said Imam, if there is interesting regional news, TVRI will also consider raising it to the national level.

"The existence of Bandung City may be closer to West Java TVRI, but if there is news that is worthy of being conveyed nationally, we are ready to help raise it," said Imam.

In line with that, TVRI's Director of Programs and News, Arif Adi Kuswardono, assessed that the face of the leader of Bandung City should appear more often on TVRI screens so that the public can follow his various activities.

He was also interested in the concept of Bandung Utama and saw that regional potential in Bandung could be part of the news.

"Bandung as a big city is very representative to appear at the national level. Not only the Mayor who needs to appear, but also the village head who has achievements or prominent regional potential to be more widely known," said Arif. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
