PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan said that Bandung City's economic growth was above 5 percent with inflation controlled below 3 percent on February 19, 2026, so the regional fiscal foundation was considered strong.

Farhan explained that the extreme poverty rate has decreased, but there is a risk that residents will move up to decile 6 and no longer receive the Social Security Administration for Health Contribution Assistance.

The Bandung City Government has confirmed that residents in deciles 1 to 5 who are not yet registered can still be proposed for the assistance scheme while awaiting the transition to Universal Health Coverage.

Local Original Income increased by more than 15 percent, especially from the restaurant sector, thus expanding fiscal space for public programs.

"I would like to thank the restaurant managers who have dutifully paid the 10 percent tax," he said.

Hotel tax contributions continued to rise despite declining occupancy rates due to the trend of return visits without overnight stays, thus maintaining regional revenues.

The regional government will strengthen economic turnover through festivals, performances, and sporting events, including plans to host the Regional Paralympic Week and support the Provincial Sports Week.

"The economy revolves around events. Persib is busy, Satria Muda is busy. Those are the driving forces of the economy," he said.
