PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan ensured that the fuel supply in Bandung City remains safe and appealed to the public not to make excessive purchases so that energy distribution remains under control (30/3/2026).

Muhammad Farhan explained that the central government has guaranteed that the prices of subsidized fuel oil and gas will not increase in the near future.

"Overall, we remain optimistic. The supply of fuel and natural gas (BBG) for both industry and household needs is secure. This assurance from the Minister of Finance gives us all peace of mind; there's no need to be nervous," said Farhan.

He asked all regions to ensure that energy distribution infrastructure runs smoothly so that the community's needs are met.

Farhan also reminded the public not to panic buy so that fuel stocks remain evenly available to all residents.

"We must reassure the public that stocks are secure. There should be no panic buying of either fuel or natural gas," said Farhan.

The Bandung City Government is also preparing a long-term energy solution by developing a waste-to-energy power plant in the Greater Bandung area.

The plan includes developing locations in Legok Nangka, Sarimukti, as well as alternative areas of the former Jelekong landfill as an environmentally-based energy source.

"We will coordinate with the central government. This is crucial for long-term solutions, particularly for environmentally-based energy," said Farhan.

Muhammad Farhan said the regional government is also awaiting implementation and technical instructions from the central government regarding plans for a flexible work system for state civil servants.

He believes that this policy needs to be measured clearly so that public services continue to run optimally for the community.
